Pure North Photography was born out of my love for Northern Michigan and the "pure" untouched beauty I am priveleged to be surrounded by every day. I have always been fascinated by the human face. I love all the different moods, expressions and moments I can capture with my camera and I love that those portraits become a visual history for families to chronicle their lives by. This is not just my hobby. It is my career and lifelong passion. I have a degree in portrait photography and was formally trained by, and worked for, the premier portrait studio of Metro Detroit for 13 years. I know how to use posing and lighting to create flattering angles for every face and body type. I love people and help put my subjects at ease for a relaxed vibe during the portrait session.
