Hi my name is Karen Nickel. I like to dance, sing really loud in the car with my family and eat cake.

I'm not your traditional photographer, come to think of it, I'm not your traditional anything. I love to do things that make me happy and most of the time it's not the same way most people go. Photography holds so much power, and knowing the precious value of life is the only way to capture this world.

So when I hold a camera, I'm not just trying to get the perfect angle or the right composition. I'm focusing on moments that matter to you. I live to find the small details that are often passed by.....watching a child explore(in their own world), observing an intimate gaze between two people (that would only be understood by the other person), or finding beauty in the way the sun rays shine through a tree.

People ask me to stick weird contraptions in their face and push a button. I hope you're looking for exactly that, as I am really good at it.

Honestly, I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to see these captivating moments in your private worlds. Many times, I feel like I leave a photo shoot with more than I came with.
